Meet your new therapist

A little about me:

Hi, I’m Madeline!

I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2017 and I am currently a licensed Resident in Counseling in Virginia. I began working in a research lab studying Terror Management Theory where I helped conduct studies on suicidology and religion. As a research assistant, I interviewed participants on sensitive and challenging topics. Learning how to compassionately navigate this while gathering data was part of what inspired me to explore the world of psychotherapy and mental health counseling.

As I progressed through my post-graduate studies, I worked in community mental health, inpatient forensic/legal settings, and university counseling centers. It has been so fulfilling to work with clients and gifted clinicians in each of these spaces.

In my current role, I love forming strong therapeutic relationships with each of my clients. I enjoy adapting my style and interventions to fit each individual’s needs. Clients often describe my therapy style as conversational, compassionate, and energizing. Sessions will be more or less structured depending on where we are in the process of achieving your goals. I strive to meet you wherever you are on your healing journey.

When I’m not in session, I love spending time outside, traveling, cooking, trying new restaurants (I’m a huge foodie!), and playing with my cat, Pinkie. I’m a sucker for a good documentary or book on a niche topic and getting creative with a new hobby (shoutout to pickleball and crochet).

Being a therapist is such a privilege and one of my life’s greatest joys. I am lucky to have a job that allows me to give back to my community and connect with others in a meaningful way.
